Casey reopens the old Google glass 2014. It didn't work out. 19 years ago phones were not smartphones, then the iPhone and all smartphones, it completely changed the way we interact with technology. The internet/AI devices are starting to be more present around us. Apple and Meta are making glasses. It is supposed to be the future of mobile. Casey show what is not going to happen. We won't go straight from the classical smartphone to a magical AI device. It will be a progression, just like mobile phones earlier. They started to be just phones, then good for text messages, then for audio, then for taking pictures. AI glasses need to be better at solving more problems before they can reach what a smartphone is doing today. When they will be better at all those things, we will use less our phones and eventually phones will disappear, replaced by this magical device. We are not there yet. Meta Rayban and Apple Vision Pro are very different products. When he tested the Vision pro he said that it was the future of computing, and for the Rayban's it was that the footage sucked. Since those videos the Apple glasses were never used but he bought 3 pairs of Ray-ban glasses, he uses them all the time. The biggest X factor is the social dynamic. The vision pro isolates you from your surrounding, his wife told him not to wear them in front of the kids because it is rude. You have to be alone to wear them. On the other hand, you can wear the Rayban and use the functionnalities like taking photos, listening to music while still interact with other people.
