Sponsored video: Casey voluntarily scratches the lens of the camera on an electric grinder. Casey is always excited by new cameras but these last years every camera is good. It has not always been this easy. Camera Quality Plateau. Only little incremental improvements. Same with drones. The gear is not something blocking between the creator and his idea. It now enables the creator. Nowadays his setup consists of a main camera (Sony alpha fullframe or smartphone) + a small drone + a 360 camera. Both big cameras and drones have mature enough, but 360 camera are still evolving a lot. At the beginning there were 2 main problems: the picture quality was not good and the way it was distributed, nobody wants to pan with a mouse or use a headset and turn his head to see what's around. We now know how to use it, and it is just becoming good. The main idea is to make shots that used to be impossible. He show some example on his boosted board between cars, and a special one from the pavement in front of his studio to the inside of his studio, going through the window. He shows the first 360 cameras, which were gopro's attached in a circle with a plastic mount. The software to stitch the videos was a nightmare. But now with the X5, everything is much easier. The picture quality is 8K, it is waterproof, ... Casey continues to grind the lens, one gripe he had on 360 cameras up until now was that the lens is prominent and vulnerable. He show an example of the camera touching the ground on a low angle while skateboarding. Now, you can just buy a remplacement lens an replace it very easily. The other issue is the selfie stick. It used to be very big and cumbersome. When you want to put the camera back in a pocket, you have to unscrew it from the stick otherwise it doesn't fit anywhere. The new stick has a folding selfie stick. It is so much more compact. One of his friend complained about this, so Casey takes a plane and an helicopter and goes visit him to show and give him the camera with the new stick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud2BcD5NC2A
