The subway stations are closed. People have put sand bags to protect hotel and building entrances. Some people are stuck in their work building, on top of the escalators. South Street Seaport. Lots of banks, this was the most shocking part of the night. The water was chest-deep at times. No emergency people. No cops, no firemen. Nobody. They were very alone.West Side Highway completely under water. People watching them on top floors. An abandoned Bentley, submerged under water.
